We are happy to announce that registration open will open on August 28th for the 2023/24 recreational basketball season for players ages 5-14 years of age.
Age is determined by September 1st 2022. All ages are Co-Ed at this time.
Once again we will be partnering with the Atlanta Hawks and participating in their Jr. Hawks program.
Every registration will cover, insurance, facility fees, referees, uniform and a voucher for 2 tickets to select Hawks games. (not all games are available via vouchers, but vouchers can be used towards the purchase of premium games or upgraded tickets)
The amount of registration is $230.00 + $3 processing fee for ages 5-14. An additional player on the same account/from the same family will receive a $10 dollar discount towards the second registration for player 5-14 years of age.
Registration can be completed online and walk up registration for those who wish to pay cash at.
Any additional paperwork requirements outside of online registration will be taken care of at fittings.
We will also start evaluations and/or drill camps on the 1st of November.
For all age groups, the goal, dependent on the number of teams, is to have 2-3 practices per week preseason, then to have one practice and no more than two per week should times slots be available, and a game once the season begins. Again, this is space and number of teams dependent.
A fundraiser for the program and team pictures will occur during the season.
In order for a player to "play up" agreement must be obtained from the Directors and the Coach who would be responsible for the player. The ability to play up is NOT automatic. Any special needs players who would better succeed by playing at a lower age group may play down.
Players are drafted and do not have an option of playing with another player or a specific coach.
Some games will require travel and we partner with Lanier, Duluth, Peachtree Ridge, Collins Hill and possibly other organizations if the league is expanded prior to season start.
At the conclusion of the season there will be a playoff/tournament with teams from all league participating organizations and ages. Depending on the number of teams in the age division, brackets will separated by overall record in order to give teams an opportunity to play teams within a similar range in terms of record.
